This is the ideal weapon for shutting up the pub bore who is clearly making up half of his tedious facts. Anwood sorts the fact from the fiction regarding the matter of some of the most curious “facts” that we bandy about daily. Do you really burn more calories eating celery than you get from it? And what about swans – can they really break a man’s arm? In separating the facts from the nonsense, and explaining why we came to believe much of the claptrap, Anwood has done us all a huge favour.
