New year, new album, new book

This year is all going to be all about threes.

Jody and the Jerms are currently putting the finishing touches to our third album. Following on from Deeper and Flicker, we decided to round off a trilogy of album names ending in -er, but you’ll just have to wait to find out exactly what we’ve called it. It should be out at some point during April.

We’ve got a bunch of gigs lined up over the coming months and will be looking forward to figuring out how to play some of the new songs live!

Meanwhile, after a gap of about 17 years (hey – I was busy), I have signed a contract to write a third book, which I’m about halfway through so far. It’s due for publication in the run-up to Christmas 2023, at which point it will make the ideal stocking-filler.

For anyone who read and enjoyed Bears Can’t Run Downhill and Emus Can’t Walk Backwards, you’ll be pleased to learn that it’s in a similar vein – although rather than exploring pub facts, it will be a slightly tongue-in-cheek look at ways all of us get the English language wrong from time to time, with some entertaining illustrations to distract those of us who drift off when they see too much text. Sorry, what was I saying?

For anyone who read and didn’t enjoy Bears Can’t Run Downhill and Emus Can’t Walk Backwards, I suggest this will not be the book for you.

For anyone who didn’t read Bears Can’t Run Downhill or Emus Can’t Walk Backwards, i.e. basically most people, definitely buy my new book when it comes out, as I am certain you will love it. I will of course share more details in due course.
