Oxford music magazine Nightshift has released its annual list of tracks of the year, and I’m happy to report that the Jody and the Jerms song “Sensation” has made it on there, described as “exuberant indie jangle”.
They also described Flicker, the album from which it was taken, as “unfettered new wave guitar pop joy”. Which I’m very happy with – although, of course, as a keyboard player, I am secretly annoyed that they only flagged up the guitars.
“Spinning” was selected as one of their tracks of the year in 2021, so we’re extra happy to be back in the December 2022 edition!
