Love Descends: new album out next week

I might have been a bit quiet on this website, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been making music! Jody and the Jerms are excited about the release of our fourth album, Love Descends, next week. With a black-and-white cover photo of Jody taken by our very own Peter James Millson, the album contains a dozen songs, and this time (although we do like a cover now and again) they’re all originals.

You can order a copy on vinyl or CD from the Jody and the Jerms website. And, of course, you’ll be able to listen to it on the likes of Spotify, Apple and Amazon, but that wouldn’t be as fun, would it?

To celebrate, we’re doing an album launch gig at the end of the week, run by Klub Kakofanney – “Oxford’s longest-running independent music promoter”. Join us on Friday 7 November at Florence Park Community Centre.

Jody and the Jerms - gigs 2025-26

We’ve got plenty of other gigs coming up, too, so take your pick from the Jody and the Jerms live page. Oh, that reminds me, I need to update Songkick, Bandsintown and Ents24…

Speaking of Oxford, we’re delighted by the great review of the album in November’s issue of Nightshift magazine.

“Jody and the Jerms at their most assured, an album that balances infectious indie-pop energy with depth and maturity.”

I wasn’t expecting a comparison to “late-80s T’Pau”, but once something’s out there, you never know what it might evoke in a listener’s heart and soul.
