On Saturday 10 February 2024 Jody and the Jerms are putting on a show – the No Mo Chemo Show, to be precise.
We’ve pulled together an evening of great entertainment, with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Now, which will take place at the Corn Exchange in Newbury, Berkshire.
We’d love it if you could come and enjoy an evening of live music and stand-up comedy while supporting this brilliant cause. You can book tickets from just £20.00 plus booking fee, from the Newbury Corn Exchange website. Oh, and for any Londoners out there, I should point out that you can get to Newbury by train in 45 minutes from Paddington, and the Corn Exchange is a short walk from Newbury station!
If you need any persuading, here’s the line-up… with a few extras to be thrown in on the night!
Nick Helm
Nick Helm first took to the stand-up comedy stage in 2007 and quickly became a circuit legend with his tour de force of one-liners, stories, poems and jokes. He’s also fronted his own food travelogue show, Eat Your Heart Out with Nick Helm, on Dave and his own high-octane variety show, Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment, on BBC Three. This is all in addition to his other unforgettable TV appearances such as 8 Out of 10 Cats, Russell Howard’s Good News and Celebrity Mastermind.
The Shapes
We have played a number of times with Oxford nine-piece The Shapes and always enjoy their songs of love, loss and social commentary. And who doesn’t like an uplifting brass section?
Paul F Taylor
The award-winning Paul F Taylor is one of the UK’s most exciting and distinctive stand-up performers. His unique brand of humour fuses quirky offbeat one-liners with surreal observational flights of fancy to fantastical effect. Nominated as NATY New Act Of The Year for 2013 and GQ Magazine’s comedian of the week, Paul’s persona of a lost bewildered fool sits perfectly alongside his gleefully madcap ideas.
HööF
HööF are a wonderful up-and-coming band from Oxfordshire, recently featured on BBC Introducing. The sizzling sonic sensations brought to you by this female-fronted four-piece from Oxfordshire are a haven of indie pop-rock and grungey goodness. Expect an explosive and tight live performance.
Jody and the Jerms
I shouldn’t forget the band for which I play keys. And we’ll be joined for a song or two by Mike Gardener from RIDE – something I’m particularly excited about!
